This video short describes how throughout time, women have always changed the way they look and act to please the men around them—simulating a doll for men to play with. The two men in suits represent the many men that can be a part of a woman’s life, molding their appearance and taking away their individuality. The mask of the generic female face is used on the woman to express the lack of self-identity allowed by the head of the family. Two small spotlights are used to create an interrogation feeling, as if this woman is a criminal who must be held responsible for her actions. The end of the short shows the two men walking away and the woman taking off the dress the men had forced her to wear, showing that over time we have made progress with the issue of the degradation of women. However, the mask remains to show the ongoing struggle for women to break away from patriarchal standards.
